Originally from Sicily, Italy, the Pizzo family opened Roma’s Pizza Place on February 20, 1973. The original location was on Prairie St. in Bethalto. The small parlor quickly became a local favorite spot specializing in original recipes from Italy. Roma’s was a hard start. After opening, many unfortunate incidents took place, including: armed robbery, burglary, and a fire that destroyed the original building on Prairie St. The loss of the original location meant a new location was needed. Roma’s relocated to 136 West Bethalto Blvd with the help of the local Bethalto community. As we grew, parking quick became an issue. To allow for additional parking, Roma’s again moved to the third and final location at 121 E. Bethalto Dr.

Now, through it all, 50 years later, we still serve delicious, mouth watering pizza. With the growth of the business, we are now into our third generation of Pizza Makers. Mimma, Rosa, Angelo and Vincenzo, Angelo, Lin, Julian and Alexia.
